Taupo Natives and New Zealand exhibt from Chelsea

We stayed just up the road from the Colliers that evening, and met Gordon early the next morning for a few quick Hort based visits before we continued south.
The first stop was Taupo Natives, a wholesale/retail operation on the outskirts of Taupo.

Very neatly organized and displayed, the staff responded to Gordon as royalty, and us as visiting dignitaries.

Filled with plants we either can’t grow or those that suffer and shortly perish, none of which we could bring back anyway.

After a quick stop for real coffee, Gordon understands this need, we visited a local Garden Centre. After that we called on the Award winning display from the Chelsea Flower Show in 2005.

This entry was completely Kiwi. Inspiration, design and installation, and this was a first time entry into this esteemed show.

Located in a small cultural museum in the middle of the bustle of taupo, the entire exhibit was moved, hardscape and all to the location and installed for permanent display and public access.
Crossing the street, to the shopping district, Gordon’s smile returned to his face when he discovered that it wasn’t souvenir trinkets I was in search of, but a genuine All Blacks jersey. Mission Accomplished!
